To begin, this sounds rather like some sort of rival battle, though no name quite springs to mind.
I found myself enjoying this well enough, though it feels rather incomplete in its present state; the chord progression, as you say in the description, is short, and a bit more elaboration would have been nice, as would a bit more variation in the whole. Though it feels clean and tidily done, there is also something of tediousness and monotony here, and I think this could be made into something much, much better.
That said, by the last part, I mean that I *do* think you have the foundation for something remarkable; perhaps revisit it a bit later, and see what springs to mind.
