You really love sidechain :P

The piano could really use modulation on those notes. Mainstream music used to think the happy-hulk-plonk was cool but in reality, it dies on the ears once you've heard it a few times in other songs and just sort of sounds generic. Velocity and modulation are your friends when it comes to "classical" keyed synths like the piano.

Vocals aren't really sticking out. Could use some compression, chorus, EQ -- they're really drowning in the (admittedly pleasant) instrumental. It's like trying to listen to a conversation in a club when all of the sudden the crowd's absolute JAM comes on. The end result is struggling to hear what the hell the other person is saying. Would be fantastic if not for that. Make the vocals pop, so the listener doesn't jack the volume until their eardrums do trying to hear them.

Thanks for the review request, and sorry it took me a year to get around to them. Depression is killer, I tell ya. Anyway, hope this gives you some insight for future mixes.

Nice, reminds me of a certain song, but I can't think of it. Looking forward to the full version!

Returning the favour of a review, thank you for yours :).

Melody is brilliant along with the chords, hint of SHM in there for sure. Very likeable song! points noted on the mix down side (Listening on KRK 5s) the bass in the 100hz zone does appear to be drowning the kick from what i can tell, have a look at whats going on in your side chaining & make sure all none bass sounds are high passed accordingly :).

The bass synth it's self has some peaks in volume so have a look at some multi band compression and try even out rogue notes that course these peaks.

5/5 for composition though! any more in-depth reviews feel free to message me.

good work :)

Gotta tell you... I love progressive house so much, so this is fantastic! The vocals are quiet, and I haven't read any of the other reviews, so other people might be saying that too. I would say that the drop needs a few more synth layers, and an arpeggio might be nice too. Maybe add something on every 8 bars of drop? Like a clap on the second and fourth beat or something... That one's just a preference, the song's fine how it is there... Alright, well, this is 5 stars worth!

Dj-Gonzo responds:

Thanks for replying! As I said in the last response, we are still working on the vocals because we want it to be like a chorus (not using Fruity Chorus at all). Also, the idea of including an arpeggio or more synth layers after the drop is something Himeko and I know both, we wanted our listeners to say if it was necessary or not to include them in the final release. Thanks again for replying, I will follow you in the meantime to see you upload more incredible songs. :D
