The 3rd song I've done with ALEX SANDFORD's vocals. Turned out pretty good, I think.

Good song. With a voice like that I am sure that this song will have a high score. And I know you didn't sing.

Author's Response:

Thanks. Yeah, it should be obvious that it was Alex who sung.

"left way behind"

by: DubleG

Why is there so much crap on the rock genre how this is not the stuff of stars or even local bands sorry mate but i don't see it but i see why your left behind.

August 22, 2007

Author's Response:

Okay, first of all, judging from the pun you made, you didn't even
get the lyrics, so I don't have a problem understanding how you
couldn't appreciate the song. It's kinda like how you can't
expect someone to appreciate a movie if they didn't get the plot.

Secondly, of course it's not the "stuff of stars".
I don't put my best material up for free on a site like this.
What do you think I am? A charity worker?

I'd suggest you try being a little less assumptious though.
If you feel that I really suck so badly, sure. Express it. I don't mind.
However, seeing as I have co-written material for several
commercially successful artists, and I'm sitting on a $55000
contract as a session musician, assumptious comments about
how I am "left behind" really just fall flat on their face,
and ultimately make you seem more ridiculous than me.

Sorry, mate.

"Hand face situation appears!"

date: August 18, 2007

Wait, so the guy belives that since it's the same title that it should be the exact same thing as Slip Knot? Bad news, kiddo. SK isn't even that good. Don't judge one song's applicability to the portal simply by the title name not being the same as another band's song.

Anyway.

While the song and lyrics are quite in line with the rest of your music (I.E. amazing) I would have liked to have had the vocals a little louder and the background guitar a little softer. You're borrowing Mr. Sandford's gifted talents, may as well show them through.

Otherwise, no complaints.

On the upside, your background compilation sounds great, mixing well through the entire song. And again, Alex does an amazing job of showing what a very talented young (maybe young?) man can do for a song in tying it together. In my opinion, use him more often. (No offense) I quite like him a bit more than the current lead singeer of the songs you've posted that do not feature him.

Thanks for the music and your time. ^^

Author's Response:

Yeah, it's pretty amazing how a quick
assumption can lead to such bias, but he
did give me a 6/10, so he wasn't a complete ass. ;)

I'm glad you liked the song (and the rest of my material... strong words btw. Thanks!).
Also, you're right, the vocals should have been a bit louder,
but I didn't have any choice in the matter, since Alex added the vocals
on his own, and only gave me the finished file (not the master tracks).

Alex and me are both performers, not producers, so our mixing/mastering
skills are sorely lacking, I'm afraid. >_<

Yes, Alex is quite young.
In fact, I think he was only 16 or 17 when he did this song.
He has amazing potential, and incredible talent.
I'd love to use him more often, but as teenagers most,
he has alot of other things going on in his life,
and I don't wanna keep him away from any of it.

Thank you for the time and input.

date: June 2, 2007

This time Alex Sanford was a good touch:) (<--Read, great touch). Reminds me of smashing pumpkins, sigur ros, and... who the hell am I think of, it's a rock band as the third in the mix.

Author's Response:

Yep, Alex rocks this song (as well as his other tracks.)
