Hey there guys,

here is the cinematic short trailer soundtrack of the Elder Scrolls - Oblivion mod "RATHUNAS" i am working on right now. The mod has gone beta a few days ago and offers a large (5-10 hours of gameplay) and elaborate quest with riddles and lots of wonderful details. Over 40 voiceactors were recorded. The mod is developed by Scott and Katherine Courtney who did an outstanding job planning, creating and organizing this wonderful project. I respect them very very much for what they are doing and HOW they are doing it. AWESOME PEOPLE!!!

Hope you guys will like the music, too :D The trailer consists of 3 parts:

1. The Village Rathunas (0:00 - 1:02)
2. Fighting Scenes (1:02 - 1:48)
3. The Dungeons (1:48 - 3:01)

Here is the trailer on youtube so you can see how music and pictures work together:

Have fun people! Honest votes and reviews are always highly appreciated!

holy fuckin sweaty balls of jesus christ... from the whistle flutes to the hurdy gurdy, from the choires to the percussions this is absolutely gorgeous. My only note would be that the dungeon part is a bit swampy due to the very mid range-y instruments (what is it clarinets? or some brass?) you use so it loses some of the original clarity in the mix that the composition starts off with. Overall pro work my friend. Grats. I want to ask you how did you compose it, was it entirely with some plugin/vst on a DAW or did you record some parts? I dying to know, especially for the Village part.

Jesus, this is great! The mixing is flawless, and the instruments fit together so nicely! I especially liked the choir!

I love how it changes pace several times. The dungeon section sounds odd though. All of the instruments get kinda squished into the middle, instead of spreading out like the first two sections. I'm assuming it was intentional, so I'll treat it as such.

Great song!

Thanks you very much larrynachos! Yeah - it is true that in the dungeons part something seems to have happened. It feels more mono (if that is what you ment), The problem is that i dont hve that project file anymore (it seems as it had been lost when i emigrated to my new mac pro - dont ask me why... and i just have the mp3 here ... :(

Glad you enjoyed the track :D

I'm in awe. This sounds like a great epic movie soundtrack. I don't have Elder Scroll but it feels so goods to listen to this instrumental. makes me think a large battles and dragons flying over head.

Awesome!!! Just too freaking wonderful to me ears.

Hey Jessismith, thanks a lot for your kind words. I am glad that especially you as oblivion fan liked it. The mod already can be downloaded and totally played. 5-10 hours of gameplay. The music is stil WiP but we are working hard to complete the entire soundtrack asap (a few weeks and everything is done). But like i said: The mod itself is totally playable and can be downloaded at tes alliance and tes nexus:

We keep updating the download file with the new music pieces constantly. If you loved oblivion i am sure you also will love this mod. Scott and Kathie - the creators of rathunas - worked very hard on this mod (writing, programming, coordinating, recording ...) since a few years and invested so much time and love here. I deeply respect what they have done and i cant say i have met anyone else yet who had taken creating a game / mod that serious. Also the almost 40 voice actors did a great job!

Thanks a lot for your review and all the best,

Pedro and me will hurry to finish the soundtrack asap - stay tuned :D

This is a blast through my earbuds and in one hand I hold my beer, on the other hand I'm cover my jaw-dropped mouth in awe of this master piece... and wondered, did I listen to music produced by a NGer?

The introduction is solid and strong, waving through the flow like fire and water. That flute is just masjestic. Then came the build-up!!!! I really like your choices for the percussion and choir mix. Well EVERYTHING is perfectly fit the mix! Just magic! I swear I should've discovered and follow you earlier. You're like the 2nd Jeremy Soule or something. I'm proud to have you in this community.

My skill is like an inch and your is a mile ahead so I have no criticism on this piece. 10/10
