"great effort"

date: August 27, 2006

I thought I reviewed this before! Ok, this is another good effort. The ambience with the pads is very well done, and that kind of texture can carry through a whole track easily because there's so much motion in it. Nice thick drumloop, couldn't be better, and once again, you have a very good shaker pattern going on.
Hmm..that lead sound, it seems a little bit bright and happy for the track? I can imagine something a little bit more fractured and broken really working well, or even the ethnic strings you like to put in your tracks. That might really suit.
Very good foundation though. Keep making music, you must!

Author's Response:

Thanks alot for the advice again, I really apretiate it. I sorat get what you mean about it being a tad cheery but i didn't want this one to be a realy dark sounding pice. I felt it was a almost boreing with a deeper sounding effect. So i went with a little brighter. Anyway thanks again for all the ideas. And i'll keep trying my best at music, i hope they turn out as good as some of your stuff one day.

"Neat"

date: August 27, 2006

Nice, incredibilly chilling. I gotta be honest though I thought the percussional elements were a bit too rough to really let me relax properly.

The hi hats, and claps, are what i'm really focusing on here.

The kick was fine, works just wonderfully. I felt the pad was really really chilling, but it was a bit too quiet.

Other then that, I really liked it.

Have you considered putting reverb on those percussional instruments? It would make it sound more washed out, and blend it in the song better, making them less rough.

Good stuff, I really enjoyed this song TOrkelson, I would like to ask you to listen to my piece, as it is nearly the polar opposite of this one, angry melodic battle!

Thanks for your time.
