Certainly not much to say about this one. This is a little intro I cooked up for an upcoming visual novel entitled "Advocate's Lai". It's short, and there isn't much point in uploading it, since it only appears once at the start of the novel (along with the opening lines of the script which set the theme [resolve] for the visual novel). Still, I want to have all the OST uploaded here because perfectionist.

I used the Bechstein piano sample from East/West Pianos Gold and an atmospheric texture patch from Omnisphere, along with a ludicrous amount of reverb :3.

Thanks for listening. Hope you enjoy this little thing.

Simple and short, yet the emotional quality of it is still very meaningful. The title is fitting: the piece itself is a transitory moment marking the arrival at a conclusion...a revelation! It also loops fairly well. Well done again, Step. Well done.

Step responds:

Aw thanks! That means a lot. Even though it's a small little thing, the fact that it fits its intended role fills me with relief since I'm still a relatively inexperienced composer.

Also WOW you reviewed my latest five tracks! You da bomb.

*slurps up all the tasty reverb*

Thanks for uploading this short track. I think it has the perfect "pensive" feel for an opening thought.

Step responds:

Woo. Yeah the reverb is so tasty isn't it. I love putting a lot of reverb on pianos. It sounds incredibly pretty.

Glad it works as intended! Thanks for reviewing man.

Beautiful! Yeah, it's short. A bit too short, actually. I was hoping to hear more of that really pretty piano with atmospheric sound. Is the opening sequence of the visual novel this short?

I think you should do a more "full version" of this, just for the fun of it. That's what I would do, just to feel really satisfied with a sense of accomplishment.

I know what you mean by perfectionism! I am like that with most of any creativity I do, most especially when it's a huge project. It's both good and bad (though for the most part, good). :)

Step responds:

Its length is just so disappointing isn't it, haha. I think it's a nice little idea that can possibly be expanded on, but I have a ton of more pressing music projects to attend to right now, so I'll have to put it on the backseat if I ever give it a shot.

The opening sequence for the visual novel is indeed very short, since it's just a few abstract lines of script that show up on the screen on a black background before the first scene kicks in.

I am almost OBSESSIVE about perfectionism sometimes. You should see my project files. Everything is colour-coded and organised. It takes me a lot more time than it's worth, but ah well, that's the life of a perfectionist. c:

Glad you enjoyed this!

so beautiful, such an emotional piece, i love this, ;--; so deep, straight to feels, seriously, love this.

Step responds:

Aw damn, Panda! Really glad you like this, even though it's only a few seconds long haha. Thanks a lot for the review!

That is a very pretty intro! I've never really used the Bechstein myself, usually using the Steinway or Yamaha but this makes me want to give it a run.
Keep it up! :D

Step responds:

Ohai! Thanks for reviewing.

The Bechstein is a pretty lovely patch, but I think my absolute favourite would be the Bosendorfer actually. It sounds just beautiful, especially at low velocity.

Thanks again for dropping by ^_^.
