Will you help me find it?

I have to say I'm really happy with this song. I think I did well with the composition, and boy, was it hard to do.... I'm done with boat songs for a while...

This is inspired by Runescape's "Sea Shanty", Vindictus' " Malina, and part of my song "Irate Tugboat" at the end.

I have this title for 2 reasons.

1. It's a inside joke from Runescape of "Sea Shanty".

2. I cant think of a better one for it.

I don't know genre as always....

Edit: I've added some dynamics, and changed how the last transition is composed. Thanks etelik for the tip

I always enjoy you music because it always sounds playful. This one is suitable for a flash movie and I guess it is cinematic.

ClimbLadders responds:

Thanks flash =).

I am not so sure because I am not so sure because I don't if there any cinimatic songs that use guitars pianos or accordians. To be honest though, I'm not sure what makes a genre unless its blatenly obvious. Is it the instruments, or composure? Maybe both?

Not bad, nor horrible. This has an interesting start. Nice choice for drums... but the instruments seemed to have a lack of appeal to me. It's a nice arrangement, but where's the build up? Is this a MIDI? That's what it sounds like to me... Well, what I'm trying to get at here is your track's full potential seems just out of reach.

You could do better on this, I think. Better instrument plays if not better quality. Keep at what you do. You'll get better. May be a while, but you'll get there!

ClimbLadders responds:

Orginally, there wasn't supposed to be a build up, but the way I composed it...I screwed it up... It was supposed to be relaxing, but it turned out...not so relaxing.

They are a combination of soundfonts, vsts, and samples. Trust me, midi sounds WAAAAYY worse than this! =)

...Thanks for the encouragement, but I don't think so. I've put my all into this. Sadly, I spent over 25 hours on this song. but you know,YOU can do this better than me. =)

Thanks for reviewing sir.

I really like the composition, even the few notes that at first seem not fitting. It really gives you some kind of boat/sea/pirate feeling.
What I miss though is dynamic in the instruments. They just sound plain and very unnatural that way. Maybe samples with round-robin or a bit playing with velocity could solve that.
I didn't got the ending...

3/5 pretty good :)

ClimbLadders responds:

Thanks.

About the dynamics...I screwed up. It was supposed to be peaceful, but I messed it up somehow...I wanted it to have a steady feel to it, but the way its composed, it sounds more like an orchestra instead of being lax. I think its mainly because of the crashes, but I'm not sure. I took your dynamic critiqe though =) and tried it out. I think it's a little more fitting.

Thanks again sir.

P.S.
Oh! I also changed how it transition at the near the end so it makes a little more sense. It's just 2 extra measures added before the ending plays. Or was it the accordian that confuses you? The accordian is a shout out to a earlier boat song I made.
