I enjoyed listening to this. Myself being a Counter-Strike player, I found this track to have an appropriate theme to it - especially for a map like cs_assault.
Near the beginning, the mellow waves, in my opinion, signify Counter-Terrorist weapon purchase near the two twin buildings. As you enter the inside of Terrorist spawn, the suspense stretches out, and ends - it ends right when the first drum beat is heard. Once commenced, the action unfolds.
Though short (1:07), it had powerful drum beats, along with other additions to the overall composure of the track.
I am currently working on making my own audio tracks, as well as flash animations/games to submit to the portal. My first idea for a flash animation will have a Counter-Strike theme to it. If you're interested in helping me learn audio (I use FruityLoops, the demo), than send me a PM.
