"Interesting"

date: September 2, 2006

Interesting track this, a little hit and miss in my opinion - there are some fresh ideas but you linger a bit too long on each of them. The way it is now, the arrangement is far more interesting than the composition.
My main suggestion is to make more use of your separate instruments. When you've got 6 different sounds at your disposal, it's not necessary to have only one of them play lead while the other 5 just support with long sustained notes. Work with countermelodies, syncopation, more dynamic range... vary, and be inventive.
Good luck on the contest!

Author's Response:

More use of the separate instruments, huh? Well, it's something i already did with another piece (About three lives), but i gave up that idea, since the piece sounded too empty. But i could give it a shot again for a futute piece. Thanks for the advice and the review!

"Very nice"

date: August 30, 2006

Pretty damn good I must say. It really takes an unexpected turn part way through. It's goes from more of a military sound to more of an Oriental one. Pretty cool tune nice choice of instruments though I think you could have used a bit more percussion towards the beginning. Overall I like it.

Author's Response:

Well, i tried to make something light and funny so i didn't used too much drums. I would have turned it into epic battle if i made so, lol! And yeah, i couldn't prevent myself of making an oriental-sounding part...
Glad you liked it! Again, best of luck!

"Very good."

date: August 21, 2006

The first half wasn't my favorite part but the second part sure kicked ass!

I especially liked the flute and the key changes.

I think that there should me a bit more variety in the song though, maybe add some more melodies to it or something.

I personally would have added more drums to it rather than just having the same cymbals crash at the beginning of each pattern.

Goob job with this song and good luck with the contest.

Author's Response:

Indeed, you're right for the second part.I should have added some drums,to make it more militar. Thanks alot, that's encouraging!
