After I completed my Skybound piece last year, I thought: "Gee, how about I challenge myself?"

The crazy idea popped into my head to rewrite that piece from pure electronic to pure orchestral. Sounds easy in theory, but I knew what was up (which is why I considered it such a challenge), and if you compare the two you'll know just how much had to be done to make the piece sound even remotely plausible and enjoyable. By FL Studio's project timer, that was 40 hours and 29 minutes of uninterrupted work, which was spread over several months.

The piece itself starts out with flutes and strings introducing the flighty motif and gains traction as the bassoon leads with the main melody into an explosion of strings and a whole lot of percussion. It then dramatically quiets into a bassoon-string respite before building to a string and flute climax, to finally resolve in a strong, even if somewhat abrupt, ending.
