"Sounds great"

Enjoyable from start to finish. You sure do love tinkering with percussion, and this is is brimming with exciting ideas. The initial bass was extremely good and easily lasted the distance. Cool initial eerie synths, kind of reminding me of Autechre, handing the rains over to the vocals nicely. Some excellent snare stutters, very nice!
Not the biggest fan of the bass/lead at this time though. I like the low passed bass a lot more.
Ending was a bit abrupt! Would have loved some epic pads coming in over the top for a resolution.
Crank out more!

Author's Response:

hey! :D
thanks for the reviews m8, nice to wake up to 4 good long breakdowns. i agree about the ending just kinda stopping, this was one of those bit part tracks i never went back to, sadly.

Those vocals were a bit of an after thought really, hence all the filtering and reverb :) seems to work ok tho

Cool breaks and interesting chopping/scratch fx. Solid drums, although i prefer a little more high end, but they bang nicely. I would have liked to have heard the main kind of acidy sound filter and progress more throughout the trk.
Good stuff.

Author's Response:

thanks for reviewing once again, i agree with u about the acid line. it should have been a mainstay for the tune, but i really struggled once i hit the wall with this one. i only spent a very short time on it. then at the second sitting i added the acid line that comes in towards the second section. after that i immediately got disolutioned and gave up.

Shite... I just wrote up a review on this and there was a problem submitting...

I'll try again.

This was a completely sick little stutter job.

I loved how you used the triplets to punctuate things a bit here and there.

Pushing the vox to the back, keeping it muffled and under constant supervision of some reverb combined with that angry, chirpy, bitchy little lead synth gave made this track feel a little like the audial equivalent of a speedball.

Crackheads who hang out in opium dens would really dig this!

btw That was supposed to be a compliment

I liked "Obz Cure" a bit more than this track but it's a damn fine piece of work overall.

5/5

Author's Response:

glad u noticed the triplets, it was an attempt to 'borrow' from and aphex track.

As for the chirpy bitch synth :) if its the same synth im thinking of, i think its actually a pitched snare drum. to begin with it was just sposed to be back ground rhythmn but i got a bit carried away.

the vocals were just there to thicken the ambience a little bit. and they certainly add eerieness.

thanks for reviewing! 2 more tracks coming up today.

This is very strange...not really my type of music. But i keep an open mind when it comes to reviewing. And i'll say this, it's very good for what it is. The variations in the drum beat kept it from being repetitive. The strange noises gave the song and almost ethereal feel. Very nice production. I look forward to hearing more.
