Ember's Rest

Had some free time to work on some music, and also got some new toys. Decided to try them out and write something.

I think the writing is pretty decent, but something is off with the mix and I can't seem to figure it out. I think I spent twice as much time mixing as writing, but just gave up so I can work on different things. Embertone's libraries are recorded dry, and I've never worked with dry libraries before, so I think that threw me off a bit.

Don't mind the title haha. Couldn't think of anything so I just decided to call it Ember's Rest (Ember's -> Embertone. I'm so clever....)

Criticism always welcome

Thanks for the kind words and review :)

Wow. I really hope some day I get to be half as good as you at this =)
I did, though, expect a more powerful vibrato from the violin, specially from minute 2:05.
That's all I can say, really. This song is almost perfect (fror me, at least), And I'm definitely downloading it with some other songs of yours.

drumdude responds:

Whoops, somehow missed this review.
Now that you mention it, I agree there is a lack of vibrato from the violin.
Thanks for the review!

great track bud

drumdude responds:

Thanks pal

Very deep and moving, enjoyed it thoroughly throughout. Good work!

drumdude responds:

Thanks!

Wow, I don't know what to say.

Honestly. I was extremely bored 4 minutes and nine seconds ago. Not anymore. Wow is all I can say. It's a really nice piece. Really gets you in the feels XD. But seriously now, it got me thinking of a whole bunch of real world issues. The piano is pretty fluent, the strings not too overpowering and the only thing I would suggest is that the melody doesn't move too much for a song that's 4:09; which prevents the listener from moving from one thought (or "real world issue")to another. The song clearly portrays either a story or message but had the melody moved more, it would've been stellar. But that doesn't even bother me. I voted 5 and that's probably the first time I've done that. Great job!

drumdude responds:

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, and it got you thinking.

I see what you're saying about moving the melody. Honestly, I thought about it many times while writing this, but opted against it as I have an unfortunate habit of adding TOO much and I really wanted to keep the song more mellow and calming rather than moving things too far and messing up my original idea.

I am honored to receive your first 5 vote haha. Thanks for the review
