CJ64: So I started on this project to work as the background music for the final stage of my game, started off with Slayer and my evil Apple drums and crappy instruments, and managed to recruit the mighty Step (RIP SS54) into making it sound 20x awesomer! It was a great honor to work with him.

It may be short and took a while to finish, but hell, it sounds freakin' sweet! Great for action scenes that don't involve blenders! May cause internal bleeding if ingested! It's not just good, it's grrreat!

Credit goes to me for the initial idea and Step for making it into awesome-saucedness! Take it away, man! :D

*checks on it two weeks later* GASP!! HOLY CRAP!! ALL THE-- FEATU-- …thank you… I… I don't know what to say… ._.

Step: Awesomesauce-maker reporting for duty!

This project was basically a back-and-forth tag-team until completion. CJ started with the initial work in progress (which you can find here, which he sent to me in the form of a MIDI. I redid it all from scratch with some of my own original ideas, instruments and mixing/mastering. I then sent it back to him and he added some additional instruments, a guitar and drum kit in particular. When he finished those, he sent everything back to me and I whipped up a final master of the track.

This uses East/West Hollywood Strings, Hollywood Brass, Stormdrum, and a bit of Symphonic Orchestra Silver, at least for my side of the instrumentation. I had a hard time making this since the bulk of it was composed around the time when I was with my old PC which could barely run East/West Hollywood VSTs, so the project file would crash constantly. Still, it all worked out in the end!

Hope you enjoy, thanks for listening.

Helluva good track here. Everything is panned nice and all the instruments are fairly clear. Can't say I like some of the percussion all that much, though. It's pretty easy to tell which samples are one shots and which ones aren't. Pretty much everything else I give two thumbs waaaay up.

Yeah I can't blame you on the drums, I still have the shitty GB drums, but I gotta make do with what I got for now. Thanks for the review bro, glad you enjoyed it. *thumbs up* :D
