I'm a tad late, but great track OP! Suits your theme very well.
My submission for the Art-Inspired Music Contest 2014. The goal was to compose a song using art from the Art Portal as inspiration. My chosen work of art is "Destruction of a World" by 5urface.
You can find the art here:
The song is meant as a space-themed ambient track featuring electronica instruments, various percussions elements and distorted classical elements (choir, flute etc.) which generate an otherworldly atmosphere. I wanted the scope of the song to not just be that of an aggresive techno track or anything featuring heavy percussions and obvious instrumentation, despite the apocalyptic theme. I wanted it to be an abstract reflection of the majesty and vastness of space, of the quiet grandeur with which any event unfolds in space, without resorting to explicitly complex melodic structures. I wanted to create a soundscape that mixes the poetic beauty and the coldness of even the most destructive of space events.
I'm a tad late, but great track OP! Suits your theme very well.
Thank you !
I love this song. This soothing, yet dangerous atmosphere it creates really lets one think about what could hide behind this song or what could follow. I really like that there is no "action" sort of, as it leaves the scenario in which this could be played up to the listener.
Sometimes less is really more. :) Keep it up!
Thank you ! I appreciate it.
Wow, really like it! Its one of my faves from this contest for sure. You captured the feelings of space very well. I think if i was to add anything it would be more subtle textures, maybe in the form of percussion and foley sounds.
Thank you very much !
I like your approach here it does sound very space like in a sparse sort of way. I do hope you will make and post another song during 2014 on NG.
Thank you ! I'm planning to make more music here, and I hope time will allow. I really wanted to join this contest, though, because NG contests are really fun.
I like the sounds and textures you used a lot, they're very rich. With that artwork, I think a lot of people, myself included, would have gone for the epic hybrid orchestral sound. Your track works really well, though, and I enjoyed it. Kudos on thinking outside the box!
Thank you !
