A song about moving on from loss.

----

1. This wasn't even the song I was referring to when I said I had good things coming... I actually did end up liking this one though. It's really nice and peaceful.
2. SOUNDS. Good sounds. They make a difference.
3. More live acoustic guitar. A little bit of it is kinda clumsy but it's late and I don't want to wake up my roommates re-recording. heh
4. Inspired by some people over on weeklybeats.com. Some of them are really good. They have this whole combination of organic and electronic that is really nice.
5. I resisted going 4 on the floor and doing something really energetic. I think I do that a little too much (because I know people like it) and so it limits me.

You're always amazed me with your beautiful guitar mixes. Excellent choice of synth! I felt like I was in the dream because this was so chilling.

The mixing is superb, at least to me. I don't dare to comment because I'm not at your level yet. Awesome work sir!

johnfn responds:

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a nice review! No worries about critiquing - I think everyone has valid points to make. :)

The drum beat slightly annoyed me. The snare was so loud and heavy, the snap was so light, and the kick was so low in volume. This combination did not sound right in my opinion.

The guitar did sound sloppy, even more than last time, but it still sounded decent.

None of the melodies in this song are memorable to me. Even though I listened to this song multiple times, I can't remember a drop of any melody. Despite this problem, the song's emotion and mood are very strong.

The piano playing was excellent, and the reverb and delay on the piano were perfect. You did a good job at adding synths to enhance the mood created by the piano.

johnfn responds:

I'm a drum noob lolz

Better guitar coming soon... I hope

I don't think that memorability of melodies is as important as what they evoke e.g. if you listen to Radiohead their melodies will never get stuck in your head but they are still amazing and will make you cry (etc).

Anywho thanks for the review dude!
