"Loved it."

The sound was great, and it sounded old, like something from the SNES or SEGA. Which I liked alot.

PS: Oh and it would work amazing for Raiden if it didn't slow down around 1minute :)

What's not to love? Bleepy ambient with modest drums. Nice melody (is it your own or is it from a game? Like the Prince Valiant game I never dared go near?)
No matter. I enjoyed this a lot, sometimes a good melody and a few supporting tracks is all there is to it. Great job!

Author's Response:

Yes, this is my original melody ... I suppose I'll take that as a complement? Thanks for reviewing!

Indeed, this really fit video game category.Although, you used 16-bit-quality sound (if i'm not wrong),i noticed some high quality samples, the strings, who made it better.Well,i have not much to say,but keep it up!

Author's Response:

No, I didn't use real 16-bit VG samples, but I did apply tape compression to the whole thing to make it sound old and vintage. I'm glad you noticed! Thanks for reviewing!

This is a great track. Love pretty much everything about it from the instrument choice to the composition.

I especially like those "beep" noises and the strings in the last stretch of the song. Only wish that you used the strings a bit more in this piece.

Great all around, not too long not too short, ends nicely. Again, nice track :)

I guess i'll have to check some more of your stuff later on, after i review all contest entries hehe.

This gets my seal of approval...eee what? Anyways 5/5.

ZENON

""Valiant X""

I've heard this song on your audio page and on your myspace before. I would almost consider it a newgrounds legend of a song.

Originality is an 8. Its a standard VG quality track, but the drums weren't VG, which added a nice feel to it. But everything else was cliche VG.

Diversity sits at 6. You used the sample rythymics patterns as you did the first round, and the next 16 bars (I think it was that, anyways) sounded exactly the same.

Clarity is an 8, because near the end (and actually in the song in general) the drums cannot be heard. Whenever I listen to drums in oldskool VG music, I can hear the drums very well. These were just dumbed down percussion bits.

Effort is an 8, because of the drums and the repetition. Everything else was great.

The song equals out to be about 7/10. Good work, you did a really good job on this piece. :)
