Metal, Rock - General Rock

Author Comments

I mixed several rock music genre, there is reggae, there is type of music you can hear in a Tarantino movie, there is some kind of metal sometimes... etc

Hope you'll enjoy it. Tarantino wackbar.

I'm not sure why it's marked under metal/rock, but I'll review the piece without tags in mind.

The bassline was smooth and consistent throughout the song, providing structure but it was a bit overpowering. I checked my speakers and plugged in headphones to make sure it wasn't something on my end, but the bass still seemed a bit much.

The drums and sound effects were an interesting addition to the song, and I think I enjoyed them the most.

The reggae instrument (guitar or some other stringed instrument) only annoyed me, but I didn't count this against you, I just have a general distaste for all things reggae.

I'm not sure what to think about the horns in the song, I can't say they don't fit but at the same time they don't really serve to much of a purpose. I suppose that's just me being picky.

Nice job overall, keep up the good work.

What a consructive reponse! Thank you for it

I've a real mental problem with the bassline in every song i compose. I can only accept this critic cause I always build a music from a bass base so, often, the bassline is too much powerfull. And you know, when I finished this music, i put down the bass volume and delete all the distortion... so i know i have to work this part in particular. I try men... i try (but i love bass so much...)

Glad you enjoyed the drum partition cause, in this music, i work harder than usual in this instrument. Moreover it was complicate cause my left arm is actually sick so i can't play drum for a long... i had to compose it in my head.

I love sound effects. You always think that's useless but finally it isn't :)

It take me almost eighteen years to like reggae. I understand you it's not easy but you have to discover this music genre, you will sometimes find interesting elements. If i can, I propose you the band named Groundation. Try, it cost nothing.

About the horns. I prefer a picky critic than a ballsucker critic! Personally i love them and one day i'll compose a song with only horns and drums. But you could have right when you say that there are useless. My position is quite different, i think that if i deleted them this music would become repetitive... and this is, with the bassline, the most recurrent critic i receive...

Once again, thanks for your comment and keep post critic like this! It can help lot of debutant composer lile me
