Full Title: "Sonic 4 Episode 1- Splash Hill Zone Act 1 Piano"

Thanks to some sheet music which was posted online and several hours of work, here is a piano/electronic cover of the stage BGM Splash Hill Zone Act 1 from the video game Sonic 4 Episode 1, released in 2010.

The original song is so short, I figured 3 loops before a fadeout would not be overdoing it.

Decided to try experimenting with a different drum kit this time, as well.

I reply to all reviews so feel free to leave one. :)

Hope you enjoy this track!

it's been a loooong time since i've looked stuff from newgrounds and it's nice to see that you have done a few new songs, i still love the way you use a piano in your every cover (atleast that's how i remember it) this is simply wonderfull song, i've already listened to this about 7 minutes and i cannot stop humming with the melody

Ah! Nice to see you again. :) It has been quite some time. Newgrounds almost always gets new tracks from EspioKaos and myself first. That's just the way I roll. Glad to see you enjoyed this remake and thanks for taking the time to drop by again to check out and review more tracks! ^_^

I have to agree you need more variety in your work everything you make sounds EXACTLY the same. I mean its not bad to the point where my ears are bleeding but come on be creative!

DrMackFoxx responds:

This is a cover, not a remix. Looking for OCRemix-quality stuff? You're keeping tabs on the wrong person. After over 3 years, my mission remains the same: attempt give to VG tunes new a feel with different instrumentation and sometimes some additional composing, but no major recomposing. Gotta stick with the tools I have access to, even though they are downright ancient. Remixes aren't my gig.

It sounds very MIDI, as if you'd fed the sheet music straight into a computer. Technically perfect but there's very little variation between notes.

DrMackFoxx responds:

I won't deny I'm, shall we say, an experienced novice when it comes to composition and music creation. I focus mainly on just giving tunes a different feel with a different sound scheme, namely a piano/electronic one and often adding to the original tune to a degree. Mastering is something I have yet to delve into, mainly as I don't really know what exactly that entails. Or, if the ancient programs I currently have access to are capable of this.

Splash Hill act 1 has always been one of my favorite modern stage themes, so I loved the remix even more. This is great, keep up the good work!
