This was a backup song for NGASS13, and ended up for midimachine. Hope he enjoyed it somewhat. I made it a while back in the good old Sour John days. Vocals are written and sung by Bossjohn Carpenter. I did the rest. I also sung the chorus for no reason. It's about someone who doesn't want to go outside because he/she is listless or perhaps even agoraphobic. The title is a small tribute to a Pink Floyd founder Syd Barett, who secluded himself during several periods of his live. I once read in an article not much was known about Syd Barett at the time, except he liked cacti. Also a cactus is a common household plant that in cold climates only thrives well inside, doesn't need a lot of attention, and isn't very cuddly. A good metaphor for antisocial people. I tried to emphasize the exotic nature of a cactus with exotic instrument like a pan flute. The intro and the outro of the song represent the coldness. The scrappiness of the sound is the mood of the character it’s about. Yeah I like crappie songs, I hope you do too.

Hey man. You've introduced me to newgrounds one and a halve year ago and you've been away shortly after. Where and how have you been? So you're back again? I'll check out your new stuff. I'm still making music indeed. This is one of my older songs though. I think I've improved over time anyway. Keep an ear out for more new songs.

You know what this is great if...It reminds me a little bit of jet set radio (which is my favorite game btw)
If they ever do a sequel they should this to the soundtrack great job!

Thanks. I like the Jet Set Radio soundtrack. It's a lot better mixed than this though. Maybe I should make another hip hop song like this with my current knowledge of music production. I don't think it will stand up to the Jet Set Radio soundtrack but still.

Far from crappy song, it is actually quite good!
Bat what if you live on a desert zone near the Equator? then cactus become quite common haha.

Thank you :)
I pictured a cactus inside when there's snow outside, so the cactus doesn't want to be outside. However you'requite right. There are a lot of places where cacti do very well outside. Also at warm places cold climate plants only do well inside. So the metaphor doesn't quite hold up. But perhaps seemingly antisocial people can also be verysocial when they're among the right people. So like the plants people thrive under different conditions. There's another metaphor that hopefully works.
