Hey there,

here is a short military cinematic piece i have written to check out the new Tubular Bells / Orchestral Chimes vsti from Versilian Studios by samulis and camoshark.

I thought it would be interesting to test them in a short military war - track. Its the first military brass piece i have written so far. Maybe i will make an extended version with some more action someday... we will see :D

Hope you will like it!

Masterpiece, I really see a picture when listen to this. I don't know why but it reminds me The Last Samurai soundtrack :)

Great work! It's very warlike, due to the insertion of so many violent sound files. From the footsteps in the intro to the gunshots at the end, the effect was great.

Ironically, even though the atmosphere was great, I felt that the chimes you added sounded out of place. To me, they sounded too tinny, having a more music-box-y feel than a let's-epicly-go-to-war feel. Also, the climax at 0:56 sounded a bit out of place. Its dynamics were too loud to fit in well as a transition.

Don't let that get you down, though. This is still a great piece. Better than anything I can create. As OcularNebula said, extend it! Last I checked, military marches lasted longer than a minute.

Hey there, thanks a lot for your kind review! Hm - maybe the chimes should have become a little bit lover volume or i should have added more space. Mixing orchestral pieces definitely is still one of those things i still have to learn a lot, but i will do what i can. This is still some kind of WiP. So when i will expand this track (i wanted a more action style midpart and use some Modwheel effects on the brass instruments once my masterkeyboard will arrive) i will take care for the mixing.

Thanks a lot for leaving your thoughts here! I wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year :D

Sounds quite nice!

A bit simple in its construction, but thematically very appropriate. Too short, imo, but could fit very well into certain visual projects.

Personally, I am not an avid fan of military/march style music, but I just like the work that you do!

Hey there! Long time no see. Glad you liked the concept. I definitely will expand this and overwork the details. But i had to hurry because i have to finish another piece urgently - a jazz piano tune :D Thanks a lot for leaving your thoughts here.

Best wishes and merry christmas!
