Edit: Thanks a lot NG for putting this piece on the FrontPage. Thanks to lovely listeners. Hope you all enjoyed it.

While reading, I came across this breathtaking event in the history of mankind. The city of Pompeii was an ancient Roman town that was destroyed by the eruption of mount Vesuvius. The people of Pompeii were quite unprepared for the eruption of Vesuvius - getting on with their busy lives, in total ignorance of what was to come. The signs of impending disaster, though, were there - why did no-one pick up on them? Please read or watch about Pompeii on wiki or Youtube.

In this context I decided to compose this piece. There are some phasing issues which might go unnoticed. Till 1.17 is the depiction of people indulged in their day to day work not knowing what is gonna happen. Onwards is 'mess'. I tried to keep it melodic and warm.

Enjoy my imperfections!

A truly amazing piece sir, it really gives me the feel of how we, as people indulge ourselves too much into things and have no show of attention towards other important things in our lives and sometimes, those things will cease to exist, just fade out and you won't even notice, gives me a feel of how we need history. Again truly amazing piece.

Emid responds:

True Gensing, this is exactly the message I tried you give out. If we understand that this happened, and really 'happened'; people died, and really 'died' and the whole city was turned into one single piece of clay and sand within some hours, then everything around us will become a glimpse of heaven if not heaven. This was the hint from God, this still is the message of God!

Thank you for your beautiful insight. Glad you enjoyed it.

There's a certain atmosphere in this piece that reminds me of BGM from older PC games such as Fallout and Command & Conquer. The mood of those works are rarely replicated in recent times, so when something like this shows up I can really appreciate it.

Emid responds:

Glad you found something interesting in it. Thank you for your comment.

I actually live in Pompei and I have to say that I was impressed by the comparison you tried to make with nowadays life and how the song expresses and emphasizes it, I actually never focused over this point of view about the disaster and that made me realize that often we don't notice things that should be axiomatic for us.
This composition taught me much.

Emid responds:

I agree! We all are living in our own self made ignorant world not realizing that Pompeii disaster can happen anywhere or with anyone either individually or collectively. Am happy that you have grabbed the idea and listened to it in the context.

Bundles of thanks for sharing your thoughts.
