A few years back this was my submission for an Audio Portal album that unfortunately never got released. The album was going to have a JRPG feel to it and I (Jason) was lucky enough to be one of the people selected to be a part of it as was Josh. While digging through some files, I found the original source files and figured I might as well touch it up a bit and go ahead and throw it on here.

I wanted a song that used a simple melody that could create a sense of reflection, but I wanted it to be up to the listener to decide whether they felt it to be a happy or sad memory. With that in mind, I decided a music box would be a perfect way to do that. After that, the rest of the song just kind of fell in to place.

I wouldn't really say I ever completed the song to my satisfaction, but I still think it is at least a good listen. I have my own thoughts on how the scene for this song would play out, but I wouldn't mind hearing what other people think. Feel free to comment below and enjoy!

This is certainly one of those tracks that you've been able to create an excellent melody that sticks in your head for days, weeks, months and years.

I find myself thinking about it from time to time.

Good stuff, brothah.
