My inspiration for this piece was the artwork I mentioned above. The blend of colour, unique patterns and overall beauty of this art really inspired me to produce this track.

So here's my attempt at a more melodic and "epic" sounding drum and bass. I love the hypnotic pads and chord sequences that trance uses, but I also can't help but realise that the run-of-the-mill drum and bass lacks these elements, but makes up for it with pumping basslines and awesome drums.

Combining the elements of two profoundly different styles was hard, but I got there in the end. So here I present to you this humble attempt at combining genres in an effort to form my own genre of music. Please fire away with criticism, since your opinions matter to me greatly.

Till next time!

I really like the stringed instruments you chose. I did not like the snare sound but that's just my taste. I did like all your other instruments though. I did not like the song's break. I felt like it was just the same as the rest of the song with out the bass and drum beat. A piano in the background would have sounded great at that part.

I did enjoy the song, I actually downloaded it (This is the first time I downloaded one of your songs :D ) . But I would have made the stringed instrument much lower, and had a dominant melody playing. A good powerful melody would have sounded so good with the mood of the song.

Thanks for the review, BlueOceans! I did add other instruments in the break, yet I decided that I would keep it similar to the rest of the song. I think things like this usually come down to taste more than anything. I'm sure I had a melody in here though, it comes in at about 0:53!
