Aphyrmehrius Feat Samulis - The Medallion

Samulis:
Aphyrmehrius wrote the original piece the fox of fire (see the link to the left), then I added more melody work and such on top to give it a bit more variety based on the feedback he received. He came up with a great progression and some good ideas, so I wanted to show him how close he is to a great piece. :)

Aphyrmehrius:
Thank You Samulis , for colaborating with me to make this master piece =)) we worked together on it

Well done,

i have listened to the original track and must say: The quality of the track has been improved really well! Maybe the first notes come a little bit to direct for my feel, but i think thats because you didnt try to manipulate the volume / velocity settings (try that out next time - it may take some time, but it is really worth it and makes the piece even more breathing and versitile in the feel).

- The insertion of the solo violine in the beginning (until 0:15) and the brass at the beginning made the piece sound much more contoured and agil!

- Especially the surrogation of the cello short notes with the brass really brought the piece to another level: IT sounds much more powerful now then in Fox of Fire! I also really liked the idea to bring in some woodwinds. The contrast of the soft and lovely woods to the powerful brass (at 0:47) creates a nice feel, playful but epic at the same time! Due to that the string - acompanyment sounds much more dramatic now. The insertion of the flute was well chosen, too.

The clever use ofthe harp and the percussion section (Timpani and Snares) could really improve the quality of the track a lot and made it sound much more cinematic.

Congratulations - you really improved your piece a lot. All of the musical changes were really well chosen, none of them were dispensable. The character of your old piece has been conserved but after you have brought it into a sophisticated form it seems to sound much more powerful and versitile!

Keep it on!

P.s.: Samulis is always a good mentor. If you can get some advise or a little help from someone like him, you are lucky :D

this sounds familiar ? still like it

Aphyrmehrius responds:

Thanks =) yeap i own the original :) we did used the fox of fire as base :)
