just a short loop I made off a midi I made of enya's song a few years back.. done with binaural(holophonic) panning.

just a fun loop with 8-bit sounds :)

be sure to check out the orchestral and holophonic versions of this as well!

Very nice. It never got too fancy and never had a need to. Beautiful work.

I take it you really like Caribbean Blue, it is indeed a great song!

In all honesty, I prefer the other more soft version I recently reviewed to this. The synths in this just seem quite metallic and almost a little unpleasant on my ears. I enjoyed the general flow of this piece, but that's my only issue.

The dynamics of the backing flowing in and out is quite similar to the original and is reminiscent of Enya's harmonies! Real good job there.

All the best : )

Chronamut responds:

8-bit is a tricky thing.. you either really enjoy the graininess of it or you don't.. so it's chalked up to personal preference. Me I love grainy as I was raised in the days of amiga and commodore 64, so I wouldn't see it as an issue, but one of personal preference.

Also you will notice that for some reason the program DIDN'T mess up the loop in this one, and was just being bitchy with the other versions for some reason, and since the others tooked so long to render it wasn't really something I felt like dealing with.

thanks for the review - and thank you for the compliments! Now go listen to the holophonic version :)

This sounds great! Can you make an 8-bit version of my piece Path of Darkness? Cause I'd like to know how good it would sound in 8-bit format, but I don't have the means to make it in the 8-bit format to do this.

Chronamut responds:

do you have the source file? It's easier if I have that.. or even a midi of it.. if not I can try to take a stab at it, just takes longer if I have to recreate it all by ear.

email it to chronamut@msn.com if you do :) - I work in fl studio and reason so anything else and I'd have to use a midi.

thanks for the review!
