Choppy drums - and please forgive me as the guitary bits are very, very dirty

"venezuelan blinds"

date: August 8, 2006

nice glitchy breaks, very reminiscent of venetian snare in styles. although the loose ambient guitar helps to bring it more in line with your production style. not a bad little ditty :)

Author's Response:

venezuelan blinds ha ha... nice...

Very quick and dirty piece. Like that crappy guitar in there? not too bad I guess - considering that it was both completely synthetic and played "live" along with the rest of the track.

"nice stuff as usual"

date: July 12, 2006

very good stuff...i like the minimal-techno-like approach to it in the intro, as well as the kick ass beat that accompanies that oud (or whatever instrument it is).

it also builds up wonderfully.

secret chiefs is a project by three members of the now defunct mr.bungle, which was probably the best experimental rock band of the 90s (headed by Mike Patton)

Author's Response:

Hey, nice to hear from ya! - I still haven't gotten a copy of anything by the Secret Chiefs - although I'm familiar with Mr. Bungle.

I'll have to look and see if you have anything new posted - if you don't, then I'll have to sit and wonder why not...

"cool"

date: July 2, 2006

Ahh... after three ambient songs, I was itching for something like this. Drums are kick-ass, but maybe the guitar should have been more prominent, and a little glitched and stuttery perhaps? A more frantic bass would have been nice too. Otherwise perfect. 5/5

Author's Response:

Yeah, that damned guitar... I probably should have glitched up that bit - might be cool - I'll try it and see what happens.

Author's Response:

Yeah - I wasn't sure about it but I decided to go with it anyways - I guess I should have went with something else...

Oh well - thanks man! I really appreciate your reviews - you're extremely talented and I feel special now :D
