Some 20 years ago there used to be this simple yet addicting game called Walnuts. I used to play it until I lost it. I can't find it anywhere, nor can I find much about it. All I found hidden in a backup of my old computer was a corrupted midi file. I couldn't play it back, but I've analyzed the file and used my memory and I think it would sound something like this. I did have to use some creative freedom to re-construct this song though, but if you remember the game you will still be able to recognize the song. If you know more about the game, please let me know.

I guess that's the game - At least the midi sounds a lot like this song here.. but your newer version is a lot better. ;D

Yes that's the game. Thanks. I can't play it though. I can play the midi file but it doesn't play back the way it is supposed to. On top of the tracks with the correctly attributed instruments, each track has two variants without instrument settings so they're played as piano. In other words each track including the drum track is layered with two piano tracks. That is where I got the inspiration from to start the song with a descending scale. That was supposed to be toms only in the original. The midi file has more issues. It hampers like crazy. Probably very messy data. I remember in the past it played back better on some computers. Anyway, I changed a lot of things. I too think it sounds better this way. At least better than the midi file.

This is quite nice! Unfortunately i have never played, nor heard of the game, but the song is very nice!
Thank you. It isn't a very well known game. Not very original either, especially nowadays. You haven't missed much. I just wish I could find it again for nostalgic values.
