My entry for the Art-Inspired Music contest. I was inspired by JohnnyUtah's art:
http://www.newgrounds.com /art/view/johnnyutah/stea mpunk-halloween
to write this song. I was aiming for a halloween/spooky boss theme feeling, and I think I did an ok job of achieving that.

UPDATE: I made the song as loud as possible, any more than this and the audio starts to clip. I tried making some instruments louder than others and this was the best combination i could come up with. :)

Excellent submission! Very well thought out piece. I will be submitting my entry for the contest here shortly and I'm glad to see someone else who is melodie driven! I have to agree with the previous reviewer about the volume though. I don't think it's solely a master volume problem though, I think you should have spent a little more time mixing it down and smoothing out the edges - by edges I mean the different sound tracks and rhythm transitions should have been smoothed over.
Another opinion I would nitpick about, and I say that because it's not that big of an issue, is a little louder on the lows would go far. The piece sounds a tad nasal which is an indication of too high mids and not high enough lows.
Good luck in the contest!
Thanks for the feedback, I will be fixing up this song soon, I've just been busy with school and some other stuff so I didn't have much time.
Also I look forward to hearing another more melodic song in the contest and I wish you good luck in the contest :)

A tad bit quiet, might be worth trying to fiddle with a bit of mixing on the master out to get the levels up a bit and a crisper overall sound.
Notation is spot on though, obviously you're standing apart in the contest, but I wish you the best of luck because you're doing something fairly different from everyone else.
Also this reminds me of the track my partner submitted for the World Music Contest last year, and he friggin beat the hell outta my score simply because his notation sounded spot on for the region he was representing, mixing and mastering aside. Props mate.
Thanks dude, I only have about 2 - 3 months of experience in writing stuff and I'm dead after finishing a song so I forget to edit the master levels.
Good luck with your contest entry and thanks for the review :)
