This... Is... Amazing!

I don't have words to describe ths talent... You have a gift. A gift few people posses. It reminds me of Gershwin for an odd reason, and I don't know it. But it has that feeling. This is so going on my IPOD, if you don't mind?

snazzypadgett responds:

Thanks!! I'm so happy to see you like my song! I put a lot of work into it and seeing people actually enjoy it as music is a fulfilling feeling :). Now I"m going to listen to your stuff!

yush

me want sheet music PLEASE!?

snazzypadgett responds:

I'm honored! Thanks man!

I made a topic called "one last goodbye sheet music" a little while ago in the audio forum. You should check there :)

Hey im gonna say what i forgot below

now a real how you did from me :)

Looking on the melody:
Really this was all played in one chord changing time to time the key it was in. mostly in a perfect fifth type fo chord, but dont get me wrong its the most beautiful chord in music, which is b flat, f concert, and c concert (Which was actually discovered by pygathorean in his theories about proportions. Something like 2/3 a string and stuff hence forth, perfect. Something to do with ancient gods too....) and you added some notes onto the chord, maybe played with the key. My biggest problems were your transitions. not all of them but most of them. they seem too detached for the legato style they were in.

My pet peeve about this song HAS to be the first one is played like the composer of any song would; play it as written and play with it a little. this one is played by almost a different person it seems. a strait to the paper style.

O and please dont ignore me because im actually charing criticsm instead of praise.

snazzypadgett responds:

Hey, "TheIdiot," thanks for the review! :D
I am grateful you listened to my song and even reviewed it, so why would I ignore your review? ;)

Uh, what do you mean about the pythagoreans? that's pretty interesting, but i dont think your totally on with that chord (Bb, F, C), it's just a triad...a 1 5 9, that is, in the key of Bb. But i'll look that up, it seems intriguing.

If it seems like I didn't play this song with much emotion, I'm sorry, and I have to agree with you--my keyboard I used to record the MIDI of this is very limited in velocity setting ^.^, I would LOVE to play and record this on a real piano. And maybe I will one day!

Thanks again

Amazing

Being a piano player for 5 years..im 13 now...I have always tried to write music that brings tears to eyes but I have never done it, you my friend..have made me smile with the sweet and solemn tempo...then gradually it gets louder and less serene and more up-beat...I'm huge in music...being in a guitar band and playing piano for a long time, this piece is rare since now..all songs are rap and emo..=D classic rock..punk rock..and classical are my favorite please don't change a thing I downloaded this and hopefully it will be in my flash if i ever figure out how to use it =D

snazzypadgett responds:

Hey Bballdude, thanks for the review :)

I'm about to turn 15, and when I was your age, I was still struggling with writing--I never really even tried. I just became a confident player by downloading sheet music from the internet's infinite resources (michael huang makes amazing final fantasy arrangements for piano: http://www.fantasyreborn.com)

And after a lot of growing better at piano, and certainly loving it more (since I could play stuff I really love), my teacher forced me to give writing a try. He's a big music business man, so he's pushed me so far in creativity.

I suggest you start with arranging songs you like, for me it was video game music. Try not to worry about sheet music, just become one with the piano, like you might have with your computer keyboard. It's a similar idea.

So essentially, just practice, push through those pesky frusterations (pushing or not pushing through is what separates us all in talent), and try moving outside sheet music if you haven't already.

If you ever have questions I'd love to talk! Just PM me.

Man

I wish I'd have listened to this sooner. Did you play this? It sounds like you did. I love the feeling you went for in this. I tend to enjoy listening to sad slower songs on piano. I agree with _Arbiter_ it could have used some strings.

It still sounds amazing though and I really enjoyed listening to it. Keep making music this good and improving and you can really go somewhere with your music.
