Written for MAC13. This song tells a story.
First 10 seconds: sunrise
First minute: Exposition, your hometown.
At about 1:10 bad things happen.
The rest is an 8 bit adventure to set things right!

It's not chipstep, but it is chip, so it's closer to chipstep than videogame.

3. Wow I worked REALLY hard on that. By the end I was feeling really exhausted from hearing those melodies so many times. I still think they're pretty good though.
4. i really tried to make *every single part of the song* perfect.

I don't really like to review music, I never know how to critique it unless it's dreadful. This on the other hand I enjoyed very much! Those 8/9-bit sounds somehow managed to make sweet love to my ears! To me, this sounds like a song you would have for the end credits of a game.
Seems like you enjoy your work. Sucks that the melodies are now pretty much hard-wired into your head ha. Does that affect your attitude towards your music? Does it somehow motivate you to do more once you know it's perfect?

Ha! I'm glad then that you left me a rare review :-)
The biggest thing about the melody burn out is that I know that I have to move fast while writing songs, or else I'll start to dislike them (even if they originally sounded great!) There's also this problem that I have where I can't really enjoy my songs like everyone else does, because I've listened to them so many times that I know all the nuances and nothing is surprising or interesting any more. This might sound really disappointing, but it's made up for by how I get to have the experience of writing the song in the first place, which is possibly an even greater joy.
