I'm really happy with how it turned out... composition wise. In terms of mastering, I didn't really know what I was doing. I've started learning about all of that stuff though, so hopefully, each new upload will be improved in that respect.

Please vote and review fairly as I need as much constructive criticism as possible. Enjoy. :)

What you said in your description was spot on -- composition-wise this piece is really nice. The mixing/mastering however is not so hot haha.

I appreciate the change up in you chord progression at 0:49, and I wish there was more of that throughout.

Most of what you need to learn about mastering you can find easily on Youtube, but I'll just say a couple of things I think you could look at:
1. The delay on your piano is a bit over the top. It becomes hard to follow because of this.
2. Your bass has no presence in the upper frequencies. Although basses should primarily reside in the lower frequencies, it is hard to get clarity if the upper and middle frequencies are just completely cut out.
3. It sounds like there is way too much compression on everything. It is hard to make out the individual instruments well for most of the song.
4. Your drums, especially the kick, need to be louder (or, probably more accurately, everything else should be quieter).

Altogether though, I think you have cool ideas, and I hope you take the time to come back to this at some point after you get some more experience with mixing/mastering.

The composition sounds really neat, I love the melodies, but the frequencies conflict with eachother.
If I were you I'd lower the wet signal of the delay on the piano a bit.

In DnB it's important to make the drums and bass stand out; but this is a more melodic track and I assume the piano needs to be the main ingredient here. So I'd recommend lowering the bass on the track a little bit and make the beats a bit louder.

Also bring the stereo image of lower frequencies down (It makes it sound really messy)

Btw, I really love the melody that comes in around 3:30 + the chord progression.

My rating isn't 7/10 because of the melodies (keep that in mind). The melodies are awesome and beautiful. Reminds me of VG-Music and Japanimation.

I'd also change the drums a bit; the basic FLStudio drums aren't going to cut it when you're making DnB.

I hope this might help you :)

Very nice track, I love it!
Do agree with you that maybe more could be done with it....but frankly I couldn't tell you what that is so just ignore that!

Elephly responds:

Thanks man

Piano and drums, what a great mix.

And it's amzing that you composed that piano track...... you are far far far far FAR better than me. I'm glad you responded on my news post and I checked out your account.

This is great!

Fun fact: Dutch people don't walk on clogs and live in windmills and eat cheese all the time and have tulips in every garden. I even dislike cheese. I hate it.
(lol nothing to do with this song, I'm just being random)

Elephly responds:

I like to jam to this song with a little improvisation whenever I warm up on piano now. It's really fun to play. Thanks for the listen, and yo I never even associated clogs with Dutch people before, didn't know it was a stereotype. I thought Japanese people wore clogs lol.
