Hey there, Newgrounds! First track of the 2013 season, and what a day to produce it. Happy Valentine's Day!

So this is my contribution to 9 bit Record's newest release '9-bit Blizzard' (http://9bitrecords.bandc ard), and it was a load of fun to make. I was inspired by some good ol' Nirada Decade music, with its use of harmony and instruments, and applied my own personal 9-bit flair to it. In the end, it became one of my personal favorite tracks that I've composed. I hope you all on here could agree with me on that front - check it out, along with the rest of the album (and as well as the rest of the releases from that label - m/)

Gario! Great to hear something from you this year! And what a something, this is my favorite composition by you, and that's saying a lot since I'm a fan. I personally loved the piano, but then I would. Great instrumentation and I love how the song is chippy but not overdone. Those syncopations come at just the right time and the frequency of them is great, they stay meaningful and not overused.

Probably one of the most interesting chiptune I have listened in a long time. Amazing arrangements plus complex dynamic. Keep up the great work.

This is very good production, really dig the mixed soundscape except the piano but that might be more because of my taste but still the feeling and sound overall was totally bitchin'. So all in all a very good track!

Gario responds:

Heh, blame Nirada Decade for my piano inclusion - it's something they like to incorporate, and I thought it was a neat touch. It isn't to everyone;s taste (your comment isn't the first against it), but it does make for a more rich texture when everything is together.

I'm glad you like it regardless :)

A very cool track, you can feel the song and its bits all coming together and them you can actually feel like you're inside an old game, in an ending phase, just waiting for the final boos to come, and then, you slay it!! Very epic, brings tears of memories and joy to me!! ^^

Gario responds:

Well, thank you - glad you enjoyed the track. I highly recommend checking out the rest of the album, too, if you're into the 9-bit style. It's pretty awesome, overall.
