Mac13 Orchestral Competition (a young child embarks on an adventure!)
This piece of music was inspired my Michael Giacchino's work on many Pixar films. I composed and sequenced the music in Logic Pro 9 using various EastWest libraries.
I image a young child informed he is about to embark on a long, exciting journey and has to leave his normal life behind. There are hints of sadness, but this is a mostly joyful piece which I'm quite proud of.

I really enjoy the chords and melody... the piece has an excellent programmatic feel to it- almost as if it were "mickey-mousing" some action in something. The chords and the use of a steady beat with the horn in the melody gives me the image of soldiers slowly sneaking across a prairie or such- something like the song the guards sing in Pirates of Penzance, though it has a distinct western feel to it, I think.

Excellent work!

Keep compos(ed/ing)!
