Here's my submission for the Dreams of Splendor Contest. Unfortunately, I could not find a vocalist to sing my lyrics that I have written with the music. The oboe substitutes the lyrics.
[Call to Arms]
In a distance, you hear a sound. A drum of resistance, a truce you are bound.
Time of war approaches, ending the time of the ages.
Call to arms, lift your shield.
Call to arms, sharpen your steel.
The armor you wear so proudly, fighting the cause so gladly.
Blood begins to flow through your veins, thinking of the slew of blood stains.
In your mind, your thoughts begin to wonder.
Will I rise, fall, or conquer. But I will never surrender.
Call to arms, you line in formation.
Call to arms, you salute at attention.
You march away from your home, outside the priest preach from their tome.
The hymns soothes and calms your soul, in case you find heaven's toll.
Call to arms, Call to arms.
Call to arms, Call to arms.
All that matters is you answered the call, setting an example for all.
