This is my entry for the Dreams of Splendor competition organized by Bosa. I don't think I will win, but that doesn't matter. It's nice enough to take part and be motivated to create something new. It's a retro video game techno style song for a first level, with cheesy (because I suck at writing) vocoderized (I don't think that's a word) lyrics, about dreaming of splendor. I think the song and theme fit a first level, with the hero setting out. Because my vocoder voice is hard to understand I'll provide you with the lyrics. (so you can see how bad they are)

Lyrics:

Dreams of Splendor

The quest has just begun and
there are so many obstacles.
but at the end of the tunnel
there shines a light very bright.

If you have dreams of splendor,
all you have to do is reach out.
Because at the end of the
night there is a light.

Bright light glowing bright bright light.
Bright light burning bright bright light.
Bright light shining bright bright light.
Bright light very bright bright light.

Uncharted worlds lay ahead,
looking out for your arrival.
Waiting to be freed from evil
that oppresses all creatures.

Countless enemies block the road.
You have to walk in darkness.
But don't give up because at the
end there is the light.

That's quite a compliment. I think the old megaman games were the only ones that made chiptunes work. That wouldn't sound better with "more advanced" or live instruments.

Nice tune and original too! I loved how you ended your song oh and you should make a Daft punk cover with that vocal :P

Thanks. I can't improve Daft Punk songs, but I can make songs that remind you of Daft Punk.
