"A young man awakens in a mysterious place with a literal hole in his heart. Racing a cloaked figure through the dark and twisted world around him, he must retrieve his lost heart, or lose it forever."

=============

So the Global Game Jam 2013 just finished! Here is a track for one of the games. This piece is for the ending cutscene where he realizes what it means to really have a heart.

Enjoy the magic!

Sounds great. However, can't help to think the intro is from an existing song already but you've made it your own anyways.

Two Steps From Hell: Strength of a Thousand Men <- is the song I'm talking about. Great song, just like this song you have here. :)

This is a really good classical piece, I love classical music every now and again, and to be honest I prefer classical music in games as there is a much richer sound, and often a deeper thought and meaning put into each song.

So when this starts with what sounds like the ending of an adventure, deep, loud, almost terrifying notes that dwindle away and leave high pitch calmer, much more melodic notes it does to me feel like the happy ending to a journey.

Then it becomes a bit more up tempo again, the deeper notes being reintroduced, it makes me think the man has realised that he has started a new journey, a journey to find out about his heart and what it is capable of doing, it sounds like he is almost starting a journey of love.

I may not be the most musically talented, but I know what I like and dislike in a song and honestly believe this is a great classical piece.

There is only one thing that bothers me about this piece, the huge decisive symbol clash that seems to suggest a random act of violence or shock at the end, which then does turn the final notes towards that of sorrow in my mind. I believe if I could watch this with a cut-scene or such to make sense of the ending of the game then maybe this would all make sense to me, however seeing all I am doing is interpreting the sounds I hear this is what I can say.

So all in all, I do give this a 4.5 and am happy to say that it is a beautiful classical piece albeit a little confusing towards the end.
