This is quite a long one but i've tried out quite a few new things and hopefully it's entertaining enough. Sorry if the reading is a bit mumbled, hopefully you can make me out. The backing music is an edited sample from "Conscientious Objector" by Dave Godowsky and the original song can be found at

Some days I don't feel so great
Some days I think perhaps
I made a mistake
In coming here
And leaving you
Is a feeling I get
That they call 'regret'
Back in the States
Here it's called fate

Some days I don't feel too good
Some days I think perhaps
It was me who should
Have stayed there
So I could have followed you
Me out
Don't shout yet
I don't think you're to blame
But if I was in the same
I wouldn't have waved goodbye
At the station
I'd have got on the train

Some days I don't feel too kind
Some days I think perhaps
You made up your mind
Long before I left
To leave me
Can explain the fact
My bags remain packed
Overnight in your flat
When you could have unpacked them
And put my clothes in your drawers
And my bag in the fire
You'd light overnight
To burn my tickets
And it's
A mystery
To me
That you just let me go

Some days I don't feel so nice
Some days I think perhaps
I should have thought twice
Before loving you
But I didn't think once
You'd held my hand that tight
You could actually let me
Take a flight
Without you on it
I wrote you anthologies
You only wrote me one sonnet
It wasn't even good
You didn't fall to your knees
When I told you my plans
You don't beg or plead
I don't understand
I'd have burned your tickets
I'd have ruined your plans
I loved you enough

[Enter chorus:]
Some days he doesn't feel great
Some days he lies in bed
Until late in the morning
But he's not mourning you
He's not through with love

Some days he doesn't feel good
Some days he thinks he would
Be better of alone
He says so down the phone
To people back home
Who don't care

Some days he doesn't feel kind
Some days he thinks his mind
Is a weapon
He leaves snide letters to the postman
They're left unopened

Some days he doesn't feel nice
Some days he rides his bike
Down to the cemetery
It's by the sea
And he
Imagines you crossing it
To visit his grave
But he's not brave
He can't kill himself

Some days when he's feeling his best
He truly believes everyone's lack of interest
Is an act put on to spare his heart
He imagines every woman starts
To fall in love with him
But to avoid sin
They keep away

He imagines having to say
"I'm sorry"
To tearful baristas confessing their love

Some days when it's raining outside
He sits on his bed
And earnestly tries
To remember
The conversations you had
Only his words remain
Which does make him sad
That everything you said
Was so plainly forgettable
He admits
Is regrettable
He'd have liked to recall something other than the time you cringed at his smile
He cheers up to think how much he left you to remember him by
And marvels at his own ability to not cry
Any more than a few tears
[Exit chorus]

Some days I don't feel so great
Some days I think perhaps
We met too late in life
I was already a ruin
When you stumbled across me
All vines and dust and mossy wood
Nothing good grew on me
American sycamore trees
That didn't attract bees
But they were plagued with caterpillars
And the pillars were stumps by the tie you saw them

If only you'd med me
I met myself

If only you'd set me in place
I set myself

If only you'd fallen in love with me

[Enter chorus:]
Some days he doesn't feel great
Some days he lies in bed
Until late in the morning
But he's not mourning you
He's not through with love
[Exit chorus]
Thanks for listening

Great choice of words, melody, and rhythm. I really liked it, although I feel like the vocal layering/chorus effect part went on for too long.
