Here we have a theme made for the opening of a very big annual event that happens every year at my school. This year's event has the theme "Superheroes".

This is a rendition of an old song of mine called "Sanctuary". I consider that my best orchestral submission and this is the so-called "epic" part taken out of it and edited for the purposes of the event. It's treated as kind of the main theme song of the show, and is accompanied by an amazing CG animation which you can find here:

This uses Stormdrum 2 for the drums, Ra for the guitar, and East/West Symphonic Orchestra for everything else, except a crash cymbal from Vengeance Essential House 2.

I hope you like this one, be sure to check out the full version of this.

Hey I've heard Sanctuary already! It's your best and most successful song isn't it

there's nothing much new except the intro maybe but it's Sanctuary so it's great. The animation was cool, this is something like a school revue isn't it? Those are fun, I played guitar on a boat during ours last year :P

Yup yup yup. And the one which you left that AMAZING three-account review that I still go back to read sometimes.

That's exactly what the show is, except that this one comes with an opening, a closing, and also scenes where comperes play, the comperes this year being Superman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, Hulk, the evil witch and their respective sidekicks/henchmen. The show starts with a pre-opening scene with the evil witch discussing her plans to trap the heroes in a comic book and ruin the show since she wasn't allowed to take part last year, and then it moves on to the opening. Then there's another compere scene, a few items (sketches, dances or songs), another scene, etc... Keeps on going till the closing sequence and the curtain call.

The script for the scenes is really good and the acting was great. It was an awesome experience but horribly stressful because the first time we all managed to do a proper run-through of the show was not during rehearsals but literally during the first show in front of hundreds of people.

So, I just decided to go through my old reviews on my account, and came across the one of your song, "Sanctuary". I thought I'd see if you had any new things going. Of course the first song of yours I decided to check out is a rendition of that "Sanctuary" song. This review is meant to be!

As for the song, I think it's another fine tune! I am glad I can still here the same AoE type sound I heard in the other song. Now, I'm no master of whatever program you use, nor one of orchestral prowess, but I do consider myself an admirer of powerful works such as this.

I think the transition (to the clear shots of the building in that video) worked very well. Nothing sounds out of place, and you succeeded in making an epic score for your video. The ending feels like a proper one to this score, as well. The only minor criticism I have is that I think it began too powerfully. I felt like I was just thrown into it. That being said, I assume you had to pump this out for your school, so you wanted it to sound as powerful as it could for the superhero theme.

Overall, I really enjoyed it! I'm glad to see you're producing music still. Keep doing it man, you're obviously good at it!

Wow, now THAT is a coincidence! This is the first and last remake I've made for Sanctuary, and you just so happen to click it :P.

Aw thanks.

You're actually very right. I'm impressed that you managed to pick out that criticism. In the first version, this actually had a very minimal piano intro that built up progressively to the more powerful part. They didn't really like it and thought that it killed the momentum of the piece, so I literally had to remove eight bars from the intro and just jump right into it. For the show it most likely sounds better like this, but it still is a bit abrupt, I agree.

Haha thanks a million. I won't be stopping music any time soon, that's for sure.

Very glad you enjoyed this.
