This is my very first song using Symphonic Orchestra! As a result, I mainly wanted to just experiment with the library and so I suppose this song could be considered just that. It also is a little short, I know.

While making the song, I thought mainly of the Scottish Highlands and its vast beauty. I suppose the inspiration from this song came partly from the music where I am from (not Scotland) and the fact that I watched 'Brave' the other day hahaha! However, I didn't really use any traditional Scottish instruments.

I imagined a person departing from their town, and wandering out into the wilderness. They would walk down the many paths and up the hills of emerald green grass while the gentle wind blows around them. Finally they reach a hill that is high over the land and peer out to the sea. That's what I pictured anyway, what about you? :)

Oh cool, new toys. Isn't always such an exciting experience to discover all the new possibilities?! I love that feeling, it always inspires me.
There are some really pretty motifs in this and I liked how you use the orchestra to create rhythm too, not just melody.
Since you're just experimenting I'm sure I don't really need to give in-depth feedback, you'll likely learn it all yourself in time and I don't want to take that away from you. :)

It certainly is! The endless amount of possibilities that are in front of me now and somewhat paralyzing. I'm not even sure where to begin with my next piece!

Thanks for taking the time to listen to this 'experimental' piece, I'm glad you found that it had some "pretty motifs". :)

Sounds lovely :D Really nice use of strings! East West is really amazing :D For some reason, lord of the rings comes into mind! Which is a very good thing. You should enter a song in the monthly audio contest this month :D WIth these instruments you are sure to win!

Thanks man! :)

You're darn right about East West, it is fantastic! I think I know what you mean by the Lord of the Rings thing (huge compliment btw, I love LotR). It sort of has a Rohan-esque sound to it, likely due to the violin I used. Perhaps I will enter a song! Again, thanks for the review Stunkel. :D
