This is true minimalistic oldschool chipstep, not that commercial, hyped up brochipstep they produce nowadays.

Bass: C64 (SID 6581) + LFO
Lead & Effects: C64, GB & NES
Drums: C64 & Atari 2600

Enjoy!

Excellent.
I love minimalistic dub. That is, the type of dubstep before brostep. Focused more on complex drum patterns and heavy basslines than progressively crazier sounds.
Keep up the good work, sir. And please, feel the bass.

wandschrank responds:

Yep, I also love "old" dubstep.. that's why I decided to make this track :D Thanks for your review!

Sounds nice! But isn't chipstep a new thing?

I know that dubstep has been around for what. 12 years? 13? maybe longer?

Could be that chipstep has been around for longer, but I've never heard about it really, haha.

While I personally don't like slow beats, it sounded nice and minimalistic! I enjoyed this. Nice tune.

wandschrank responds:

Thanks! There were C64s and Ataris before dubstep even existed, and there were plenty of songs with around 140 bpm and noisy bass, so.. I bet chipstep was first! ;D

The term "chipstep" is kinda new, though, people apparently love putting step behind everything.

I'm usually not into slow (and minimalistic) stuff either, I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for your review!
