Town in a bubble - Machinist Side
(A letter delivered today reads as follows)
Hey! How have you been? We're holding up here well. Generator's still holding, shield is still up...I really don't know how Jannie keeps it up with just a wrench...she's kind of awesome at making do with nothing, you know. We had a scare about a week ago, the generator was flickering and we werent able to get any oil to grease up the gears, and she used some old wax as a substitute while Lucas and Momo managed to get something better scrounged up, I think they used some old cooking grease or something! Geniuses they all are, but Jannie was so mad, haha! you know, having to fan heat on that wax so it wouldn't crud up the gears, it was scary then, but funny now....strange how that works. Generator works like a charm now, no problems since then.
We're up to nine people--Ronnie rescued a wisp of a guy and his wife that were hiding in the old rundown robotics factory about a mile north from here. Was a bit shaken up but other than that, he's come round well. Strong hands, knows his way with a gun pretty decent. The lady's not bad either. I think they would be great for the perimeter team. Overheard their names were Jaylen and Jordee. Real cute couple, I hope they stick around here. The farm is producing well enough food so all we gotta do is just build another home for them, won't take long at all. 'Specially considering how dangerous it is outside of the bubble with all the monsters around.
I'm doing okay. I play my guitar for everyone every night. It helps everyone forget that we're out here in the middle of nowhere with just a generator keeping us from the monsters outside. It's been running for about 9 months now with barely any fuel, and even though we all feel pretty safe, I dont like to think about what would happen if it just up and kicked it one day. Playing guitar helps everyone to not think about it, and focus on the good times we share with each other every day. We're becoming a pretty tight family.
Speaking of our population, before we got two more, Ronnie was thinking of calling us the "Resilient Seven", kinda like those knights we used to see when we were kids. Everyone else thought it was silly but truth be told I kinda liked it. Usually folks just come and go, so we're sure grateful when people stick around. Makes it not so lonely.
We miss you dearly and can't wait for you to come back with the rescue team. It's like a piece of us is missing when you're not around, and the day you come walking back through that bubble to see us will be a wonderful day indeed, and personally, I can't wait for the day.
Cheers and Divines blessed,
Your 'Stupid Silly Bestest Best Friend Forevers',
