Heroes of Earth part II

Wow this has got to be my biggest project to date O_o.

After watching the 'Pacific rim' trailer (so hyped for that movie btw) I was blown away by the build up with the "inception horns' and grain sounds and I just had to make my own.

I started adding more elements that you would see in certain action trailers with flickering static to introduce the concept of impending doom. I sliced up a few samples and connected them so it was like radio frequency crossing each other to create a paragraph that would make sense (to a certain degree) as well as using them to compliment the beat later in the song. Don't worry that flickering static isn't your speakers, it's all part of the track.

Also, I apologise if the mastering is a little off. I've been having problems with my ear lately and I can't wear headphones :c.

Lyrics:

(Radio voices)

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
It's truly a real, honourable experience to be here this evening
A very Wonderful and warm and emotional moment for all of us
And I'd like to sing a song for all of you

This is a test of the emergency broadcast system
We have a problem, a problem
It's top secret
Evil gas, evil gas
Which are weakening America
The conscious nation
(X2)

(Alien Voice. Practically gibberish I sliced up the words and tried to make sense out of them.)

*COUGH*
Once last day and the invasion will soon be here.
The ones who cast me away.
*HISS*
Come here so we can crush the human race together.
Release me and let me HUNT. HIM. DOWN!

HAHAHA, DOWN! (X2)

(Also thanks to waterflame for his creepy-ass insect alien voice)

I figured with the world ending today it would be perfect to upload now to fit the theme!

So Happy Apocalypse!
Merry Armageddon!
Have a great Doomsday!
and a .. eh you get the idea...

Awesome song with a nice change half way through. Solid job!
If you're excited about "Pacific Rim" then just watch the thing they ripped it off from - Neon Genesis Evangelion. It's a bit strange, but it's a very epic mech vs alien anime and Pacific Rim looks just like it.

Thank you! :D

And I'm very aware of evangelion, It's one of my favourite animes :D I love the reboots and I'm so looking forward to the 3rd. But they didn't come up with neural connection to mech concept, it's been done many times before. Look up 'Robot Jox' for example. And of course there's 'Gozilla' with giant monsters vs giant monsters vs robots vs other giant stuff but that's another story :P.

Pacific Rim looks like it's taken inspiration from a lot of those great concepts and I'm a huge fan of mech stuff so I can't wait to see it! :D Thanks again!

Epic.
slender+hollwood

the ending could have been better, instead of a fade out a last hit of the inception horn thing

DuttonsaysHi responds:

Thanks! and yeah I see your point. tbh I wasn't sure on how to go about the ending since I accomplished all I wanted in the first half. I figured my best bet was to do the trailer music route and fade out with a final horn. You know where it would normally fade to the title then licenses/sponsers n stuff.
