Cover of the Gary Jules version of Mad World. Original version written by Tears for Fears.

Mix includes:
2 Acoustic Guitars
Electric Guitar
Main Vocal
7 Vocal Overdubs.

This was a great cover. I get a feeling it will be awhile before I hear a cover that tops the original version. This cover sounds amazingly good though.

The bass rhythm is smooth. The guitars provide the excellent front sound needed for a rhythm. The organ makes me think a lot of the original version. Then lastly the drums are fun to listen to.

The vocals make me think of a chorus of people just being in a recording studio and having a good time recording their vocals for this cover.

Overall, great cover!!

This is a very hard cover to do. Why? Because in my opinion, the Gary Jules version of "Mad World" is already perfect.

But this doesn't mean that you version is bad. I like the vocals here a lot. I also like the vocal overdubs, they fit in pretty nice with the song. I think you should try to replace the electric guitar here, because it kind of destroys the sad atmosphere you create with the vocals.

I don't quite understand (batter?). The other cover I don't really like too well, too complicated.

It was a nice experiment but I think the rock instrumentation really clashes in this version. The vocals were nice though.

I appreciate the input, and I think I agree more than disagree. The version on that which this is based is beautiful in its simplicity and this is much more complicated. What do you think of a version in which piano is the only instrument, but the vocals remain the same?
