Electronic - Drum N Bass

Author Comments

This is my 6th attempt at DnB, and I think it turned out decently - it's certainly better than my last (in my opinion, anyway) even if it is extremely similar.

Quick facts:
92 Patterns
Made with FL8
Heavily inspired by Stan SB!

Enjoy. c

it okay but too repetitive so 4 out of 5

Geoplex responds:

Not hearing the repetition myself (unless you mean percussion-wise,) but thanks for the review.

Overall, I would say that I enjoy this song. I have never really listened to Drums and Bass before, so it was interesting to hear it for the first time. I enjoyed the use of the flute in the song, and the piano part was nice too, for the most part. However, I agree with a previous poster, who said that the drums are a bit repetitive, and that maybe you should cut out a little of the piano reverb. Still, though, this is a 4-star quality song for me.

Geoplex responds:

Agree on the reverb, but DnB usually has pretty repetitive percussion.

Haha, I can hear the StanSB in it for sure, especially how the sub bass kinda overpowers the low end. I really wouldn't call this DnB though. It's not even on the DnB radar in my mind, but that's not important. The song was fun, but a little forgettable. Still worth a listen.

Geoplex responds:

Liquid DnB is a little closer to the tranceish side of things in the DnB spectrum, but i'd still say it's DnB.

Also, the kick is drowned out because i sucked at mastering this one.

D&B in the Popular Audio section? Splendid! Doesn't happen very often.

Sounds like a great Liquid track IMO, with the piano as the main driving force for the melodies. I also like that warm bass, even though it plays a rather generic pattern. That part on 1:50 sounds a lot like the background music on Bejeweled 2. :O

What I like:
--Choice of using the piano (and later a flute) as the main instrument and the melodies (patterns) played with it
--Warm, solid bass
--The pads in the background

--The piano has too much reverb IMHO
--The drum patterns don't really change much throughout the song. It gives a bit of a 'repetitive' feeling in my ears.

Overall, 4.5/5 stars for review and thus a 5/5 vote. Going onto my faves despite the cons of the song.

I will agree that my percussion is quite repetitive (that's been an issue i've had for what feels like forever) and the piano does have a lot of reverb, but it doesn't quite feel right without it imo.

Appreciate the review.

unpredictable rythm, cool name , that bridge of short fast series of taps is awesome it mixes the awesome feeling of good dubstep and addicting trance with RnB, all in all SOLID song. Some of the beats are cliche but the good far outways the bad.

Geoplex responds:

I'm a little lazy with my percussion to be perfectly honest, but I'm working on that :P

Thanks for the review!
