The second of my tracks for Game Jam 8 a.k.a. Cabin Jam, for Team Crystal Egg. The upbeat tone of the piece is meant to depict the young boy's eagerness and innocence.

I swear, I literally almost pulled my hair out over this piece. Thing about me is that I have two computers. The one I used for most of my pieces (except the ones for Cabin Jam) has excellent processing power, but overheats like a tank. The one I'm using now is sturdy and doesn't heat up that much, but in exchange, it has AWFUL processing power. So FL Studio takes up EVERYTHING literally. I was praying for patience when I did this piece!

Other than that, I absolutely enjoyed making the piece that you now hear -- again, since it's for a Game Jam, it is a short piece, but I do hope it lifts the spirits of the listener.

Piano, strings, chimes. FL Studio 10.

Used in this project:
Akai-Steinway III soundfont, by Denis.

I went through and read the interviews you mentioned again, and I listened to some of the songs mentioned in it. This one has to be by far one of my favorites. It has an upbeat feeling, mixed in with a little bit of melancholy. That's a blend I've only ever heard done well in a lot of Steve Jablonsky's work. Simply beautiful! I'm in envy of your music composition skills.

If you still remember, could you tell me what vsts/sample libraries you used? Especially for the strings. Those strings gave me chills!

Troisnyx responds:

If I remember correctly, everything in this piece was a soundfont. The piano was Gallahaut's Steinway SF2, the first piano soundfont I relied on. The strings are from the Touhou SF, which is really a set of sounds from a Panasonic keyboard that Zun used to make the OST for his games. The chimes also come from the Touhou SF, though I'd do them a bit naturally today.

Sorry it took me ages to reply; I only saw this review today. I really should keep on top of things. Thanks for listening, meep!

WHOA!!!! I TOTALLY LIKE THIS!!!!
This song can blahblahblah...(suitable for Angelica's alive, while Sky's smile innocently!)
5 stars 4 u~~~!!!!
SHWEET!!!!

full of innocence, very energetic, im running through a forest, i dont even know where im going, but i keep running thorugh the forest for the thrill of adventure, the forest is beautiful, magical, and all my problems just disappear here, and i keep running happily, running on forever

i dont even know what could possibly improved, it really is a loop that i just never want to end,

Love this song. I love how it perfectly loops. Although, that's probaly how most of the 'loops' work. :P

Troisnyx responds:

Some loops cut to repeat, others fade to repeat, so I say it depends... I usually fade to repeat, because I love seamless loops. At any rate, thanks for listening -- I'm glad you loved it! ^_^

This song is just beautiful! I love the instruments you used! Also, when I saw your reply to the review under mine, I was thinking, "Wait, WHAT! TOUHOU SOUNDFONTS! OH YEAH!" But anyways... The violins and jingling (I have no clue what it's called. XD) give it that magical feeling and the piano and lower strings give it that RPG-like quality. You did a great job on this! :D

Troisnyx responds:

Those are chimes (you could either use sleigh bells or bell trees if you did this in real life, they would give the same effect).

I'm glad you loved this song very much. Thanks for listening! ^_^
