Grab a shield and blade, and get out there! Distortion at end is intentional.

"A Masterpiece"

date: September 5, 2006

It is rare that pieces of such caliber find their way to sites like Newgrounds. However, like all pieces, there is always criticism (sadly).

It starts off with a bang, which I must admit, I enjoyed. But once you get into the middle, it soudns a bit... less balanced? I'm not an audio expert, but I can tell something feels out of place. Like the chorus perhaps? I can't place a finger on it, but something's wrong that I can't figure out. Which means it's pretty damned small.

On the whole, I was quite impressed. The chorus for the most part sounds incredible, though at sometimes, unneccessary. (If it isn't a chorus, it's... not good)

Overall, this was still one of the best pieces I've seen on this site, and I hope (unlike one of your songs say...) that this will NOT be your last piece on Newgrounds!

"Ok; My first review in ages."

date: June 15, 2006

And only because it's you.

Ok---In the beginning I felt it was lacking depth. And once again.
I feel that your percussion is good.
But overpower too much.
You have great melodic lines going, however;
You once again have not put enough emphasis on the contrabass (if there even is one).
So the track seems too thin throughout the whole thing.

You had alot action in this piece, which I liked.
And great use of the bells.
The choir sounded rather fake---but unless you feel like spending thousands of dollars---I can see why. So dont worry there.

Your clarity is rather bad, due to no equalizing.
Making this track sound rather washed out (Like my previous tracks, before I mastered equalizing.)

You're a great composer Sorrow---But there are still errors that need correction.
I'll admit that I've lost alot of my own melodic feel, but you still have yours.

The way I see it in this track--You had alot great idea's, just not executed well enough.

-Sorry for being harsh, and I hope you'll forgive me :P

Author's Response:

Pfft, Silly Zeth, you're true words and facts do not phase me! I turn a blind eye to your review --_--!

No No I joke, I jest, I jibe. Whenever I make a song of this caliber (ie, more then 10 instruments), equalizing becomes so friggen hard, and I understand that. I guess I just need to pay more attention to what i'm doing with those lil knobs.

Do not apologize for your thoughts Zeth, they were good ones. Thanks for the review ^^.

"This is what I like to see-...hear ^_^"

I must be the harshest judger you have, but you're still one of my favorite artists on NG. Actually, you're one of my favorite artists ever. That's why i dont' play when I review your songs. One part there was a flute or cornet that was basicly so soft I couldn't hear it...which is why I don't know what it was. Minus 2 clarity. Diversity would have been 10 if you added one more theme. Or did the same theme but really hard then extremely soft, or visa versa, in order to make it spontaneous. It doesn't have to move faster. Again, because there wasn't alot of themes I gave effort 9. Well, I'm going to download this. Let's see how many MaestroSorrow songs I have :p

Keep on keepin' on!!

Author's Response:

It is good to have a harsher judger. How else am I supposed to get better? Only through criticism and deep thought can I get better, and I respect your honest words for it.

Points taken, and will be in effect for next pieces, thanks for the review Rythim_Man.

"Genius"

date: May 21, 2006

you are no doubt one of the best classical track makers in all of newgrounds. i've seen other reviews and this is one of my first reviews so i'll make it count. other reviews have said that you are close to Mozart. as you say that's not even close to the truth. compared to Mozart you're a small fry. but nonetheless you a truly a genius when it comes to classical music. the orchestra, the brass, it's all so clear! my friend says that i should get into making music because i have a good ear for music. what do you think>

Author's Response:

well I personally would love to hear some of your tracks when you upload them Zen, please drop me an email when they're up. You have the stories in your head, I believe you understand the mechanics behind the audio creation process (as you seem to understand my songs rather well). I also think you should go for it. Let me know if you do ^^.

Thanks for the review.
