I made a song for the sake of time; have you ever thought about the past? The future? Time is a mystery...if anyone could change time, than it would be amazing.

Whatever you do, time flows with you. When five years pass, you might feel as if one day passed. Time is just mysterious.

FL default presets and DSK ChoirZ used for instruments. I can't edit this well anymore since my laptop KEEPS LAGGING. Stupid 0.2 GB of RAM. For now, this will stay 2 minutes long. =(

Genre: I DON'T KNOW. It's the closest to D&B so deal with it.

Made with FL 10.

Enjoy! =P

Ohhh I like this.

Read your description, and I agree. It reminded me of the lyrics from a song I listen pretty often to: "The past is a method, the future an expectation. Neither past nor future actually exists... There is simply, the eternal now."
The sheer absoluteness of time is pretty incomprehensible for humans, but we both work to grasp the basics... You with music, me with a novel.

Now onward to the review:

I am pleased with the instruments used. Your songs sound -as you wanted- a lot more classical, while with avi's drumpack (hurr) you still keep the D&B in the song.

I am also pleased with the obvious progress you've been making. The intro was outright fantastic. It was quiet, yet intriguing. Then the bells started to come up, and everything exploded at once. The drums kicked in, and a few hits were tossed over the speakers.

This energetic part is something I like a lot. The drums actually do fit in perfectly this time, since you've found a good balance in volume.... well done.

A small negative point though; the hits are feeling kinda out of place, especially the one at 0:33. I like the hit5 you use more, but I understand if you don't want to KEEP using it. What I'm suggesting is that to find other hits.

I liked the bass too. It's a warm, buzzing one, which also blends perfectly. Well done.

Then, the quiet part at 1:00. Great stuff man. Seriously wondering what you used as main instrument there.
Anyway, it truly gives off a great feeling, as if you're walking through a gigantic hall, where all time stands still, where the great gods live... and you're allowed to venture through that place... great stuff, truly.

Then, a big 'fuck you' for your laptop. Tell it not to bitch about rendering another minute, since I am missing a good ending. It's truly a shame, since I removed .75 points from your score from it. I know it's something you can't do anything about, but I also can't be throwing '5's all over my reviews for songs I don't find perfect (or close to), with the concerning artist's standard. Speaking of which, yours has been raised again.

Great fucking job, I hope you'll be able to finish this (IMO -again- it's unfinished). This goes straight into my faves, and you'll get my precious download as soon as I find this song finished.

Keep it up!

Thanks for the review (and perhaps the longest you've ever written).

Ofc I'd use Avi's drum pack (other packs that I used weren't as good) and it had to stay more D&B than something else.

I would have replaced the strange hit at 0:33 if I could; lagging, you know.

Yeap, fuck my laptop. I'll remake this into 3~4 minutes once I manage to get my hands on a pro laptop or super PC.

Wow Chris, this song just sounds different from your previous works; it sounds much better in terms of quality! I can still hear native sounds, but some of it is different. My only argument against this song is the lenght. Make it longer!

This is Your best song.

Chrausner responds:

Thanks. I think it's because of the EQing that I did. =P

Hey! Nice work on this piece. It's very energetic and captivating.

Suggestions
-at :22, I really wanted to here a huge orchestral bass drum hit that would resonate for a little bit. What you have now just doesn't seem to have a lot of presence or cut through much. Something with some more attack and sustaining power would be epic.
-After :22, a flute-sounding instrument comes into the background. I personally want to hear more of that on the foreground. Try boosting the volume and taking a little reverb off of it.
-The choir sample sounds a little cheesy to me. It was thin and had an awful lot of attack for a choir. I'd try finding something with a little more warmth and legato. Maybe check sound soundfonts on hammersound?
-Also, choirs are naturally very dynamic. They don't just sing one note after another...No, they sing each note in connection, in a line. They crescendo to the top of that line and come down from there. They even swell in the middle of a single sustained note. Try attaching the choir main volume (In MIDI, the CC#7 parameter) to an automation clip and getting the choir to crescendo to the top of a phrase and come back down from it. It will sound way more organic, flowing, and generally awesome. I'm refering to the high voices doing melody around 1:15 BTW, not the basses that sing quietly throughout the piece.
-You have a cool piece here. The drums, synths, and other instruments create a nice soundscape. The piece sounds like background music though because it doesn't have a strong sense of melody. The choir in the middle helps a little bit, but your piece would be much more memorable if you had a developed melodic idea.

Good work on this, Criminal. It could use a little more refining and development, but I like what you've got.

Now, that suggestion at 0:22, it's gonna be hard, lol. I can imagine what it sounds like, so I'll see what the after-effect will be.

That 'flute-sounding' instrument is actually a pad. I thought the pattern it plays isn't significant enough to be with the main pattern, and I wanted background sound, thus I kept it like that. I'll see what difference it will make with higher volume and/or reduced reverb.

This song is the first song that I used a choir on. I don't know much about how it works, actually. I'll try to do that choir in connection mode, though. ._.

We'll see how my laggy laptop will handle the changes I will make! =P
