Kruizy - Rise In Lies (Original Mix)
Made in Steinberg Nuendo with Native Instrument's Razor as the main dub synth, processed through effects such as OhmForce Ohmicide and FabFilter Volcano.
When i first got the Pm about this song i was kind of bummed, but then I was super stoked. I'm not nearly as knowledgeable about music as the guy below, but i think he's on to something, i think you are too. this is a super cool song. and I'm glad i listened too it. the only thin i can suggest, is give it a better mood. it doesn't really seem to have one, or maybe i'm just getting old
Cheers for the review!
Really like the way the song sounds. The intro makes me think I am getting ready for a party of some sort. The DJ mashes buttons to make the music play, the party begins...
The synth at the start makes me think of a fun little starting party. Then the drums strike as a simple beat for the most part. However if I could, may I recommend it come with a constant hi hat pattern if it doesn't clash too much with the rest of the song. The filtered hi hat pattern sounds great but just curious as to how a second hi hat that is constantly playing one rhythm would sound.
The dub sounds make me think of androids rising up and simply staring at the party people feeling a bit used. Nice dub filter sound though, I'm guessing that is Ohmicide? Plug in for Ableton or FL Studio then?
Overall, song sounds great!
Thanks for the review! I think a constant hi-hat pattern would probably sound better, but I'm always experimenting, trying new things out. Though, the hi-hats are not really filtered as such; an LFO controlling the pan settings is what gives it that sound.
As for the dub synth, the filtering was done with FabFilter Volcano. Ohmicide was used to distort the sound and give it the aggression.
I agree with SYNZ down below that this is better than most dubstep I know because Im generally not a fan of it. If you threw in a more melodic, legato-type solo in the middle maybe it would help the repetition.
Better than most Dubstep I hear, however it would be nice to hear a heavy bass drop. Also the up and down gets slightly monotonous but still a nice song. Good job.
My only problem is that it could have been mastered better....other than that, I LOVE THESE ELEMENTS TO THIS SONG. That drop had some interesting sounds. good job!
