Hey guys, girls, and other miscellaneous beings!
It's mod15 again, pulling out another track from Cthulhu-only-knows-where.
The full title is "You'll Miss Me When I'm Gone" by the way.
Truth be told, I started this track and made the first two phrases, back in May. Then I left it sitting there, fermenting in my hard drive, until about three days ago. I had completely forgotten that it existed, to be quite honest. It's something of a depression tune - I started it when I was really unhappy and depressed because of some going-ons in my life, and I found it again because of the same things. I'm currently going through a rough transition stage in my life, so I'm working on making my production value skyrocket, and I'm caring more about the music I produce than just about anything else at this point.

Anyway, some quick facts about this tune:
Produced with FL Studio 9.
Started 5/26/2012 at 8:43 AM.
Since then, I've spent 4 hours, 36 minutes on it.
So far, I've used 13 mixer channels.
So far as effect VSTs go, the only third-party ones that I'm using at this point are Camel Phat 3 and Dada Life Sausage Fattener - every other effect that I use comes with FL Studio.
I have two instances of 3xOsc.
I'm not using any drum loops, every drum pattern is arranged by me.
I'm using two instances of Cakewalk's Z3Ta+ 2.
There's one instance of Camel Audio's Alchemy.
I have one Native Instruments Massive.
And there's one FL Keys.
The tempo is 128 BPM.
The tune starts in C Minor, and changes to G Minor (Tonic-Dominant key relationships? WHAT?!)

Hope you all enjoy, it's still a work in progress. Tell me how you feel, what you think I can do to improve what you hear so far, so on and so forth. PLEASE leave reviews, I like some kind of feedback other than a number.

OH! And I plan on releasing several mixes of this - this is the "original mix," so expect a dubstep mix, a DnB mix, maybe a hardstyle mix, and very likely more than one vocal mix. Maybe I'll even get an acoustic version, if my friends are willing to not be poops.

:) Thanks! [mod15]

Very melodic with a nice emotional tone!

I see where you're coming from on unfinished/neglected project files. (I have a lot of Flash stuff that hasn't been completed.) Plus, it's interesting to see versions of this in different genres, which is nice. Enough with this, on with the review...

Instruments: You did a great job on programming the synths and the drums. They were neither abrasive or weak and got the point across. It really shows that you have the ears for pleasing sound. In other words, it had a bittersweet mood that I liked.
Composition: This is how melodic house got its name, especially considering that house was the first genre of electronic music to come about. I enjoyed the melodies that you had going on in this, which combined with the sounds, made that aforementioned tone that you were aiming for. Did I mention that you had a nice rhythm to boot?
Other: As for suggestions for how to improve, I suggest studying the right material. Namely, the following:
-Black Sabbath
-'80s Techno
-Infected Mushroom
-Astral Projection
-Ka-Sol
-The Ramones
-The music to R-Type Delta and Final
-Black Flag
-The Misfits
-Cab Calloway (and the Blues Brothers soundtrack)
-Prodigy
-Acid House
There's plenty of stuff from them and it helps to have multiple influences.

The Good:
-Original
-Very melodic
-Great mastering
-Excellent synth
-Nice tone

The Bad:
-The fact that it's technically a work-in-progress, but what you have is still great.

Overall: Here's another ten from me, and have you considered making the following after you're done with the variations of this? (Psytrance, Darkcore, Jungle, Tech DnB, Hard Trance, Gabber, Drumstep, Darkstep, and Hard House)
