This sounds like something from a John Petrucci solo album, and I like it! Very nice phrasing, the whole composition is top notch as usual. I like your rhythm tone, however I think you can turn down your gain a bit, sounds overdistorted, digital-sounding almost when you chug the strings. Other than that, the mix and everything else sounds awesome. That last minute or so really did it for me man, even though the rest of the song kicks ass, I just love that riff going towards the end!

As for being over distorted, I def can see that it may bother some, like to me, certain bands I think have too little distortion, and you think this has too much etc. I can understand your way of thinking. However to me, if I took away gain it would lose much of the epic soundscape I was going for. I did go back and forth with the gain while making this rythm sound, but in the end I was dead set on this route being the one I wanted.
